August Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Hi!  Thank you for joining us today on our Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop!  This months theme is "Favourite Stampin' Up!® In Color"
Well there is no secret that I'm a purple girl, so of course I'm going to head to the most purple that I can possibly get, which before I started to day I would have definitely said was sweet sugarplum, but I made an AMAZING discovery while I was doing this project.
I chose to use my three favorite In colours which happen to work pretty well together Sweet Sugarplum (16-18 In color), Fresh Fig (17-19 In color) and Tranquil Tide (17-19 In Color).
I decided to start with a base using the Marbled background stamp, as it can produce a huge contrast when used with dark colours I decided to stamp it on glossy card stock and then use my aqua painters to wash over it, and to my surprise the fresh fig became very purple! Cue happy dance!

I paired my background stamp with the Grown with Love bundle
and used my Stampin' Write markers to color the stamps. The watering cans are heat embossed in silver, for the fresh fig card I used an Elegant Eggplant base since it came up so purple.

My Sweet sugarplum background is on a Fresh Fig base (see how well they go together) for this one I also did a black water colour wash on the watering can to antique it a little and pull it away from the background, and used a dauber and fresh fig to do the same with the doily.

And last but not least Tranquil tide on a Tranquil Tide base I love how this one makes the flowers pop!

Kylie's International Blog Highlight August 2017

Hi!
Thank you for having a look at today's creation!  Today’s card is inspired by Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight for August.  This months theme is Teacher Gifts, this is a great time for us Aussies to start getting organised, as National Teacher Appreciation day is on Friday 27th October so hop on over to the gallery and check out all the ideas.  Psst, it would be great if you could vote for me too while your there if you like my project.

I decided to use the window box framelits today to make a 3d piece and I thought what is better for a teacher than a large pencil to hide some things in (at first I thought pencils, but then I thought it might be a good place to hide their choccies from the kids)

v

For the base layer I have used Kraft card stock, I was soooo happy to see it in the holiday catalogue (in a mixed pack with garden green) I liked how it gives it that slightly woody look, plus it so sturdy!
I've created a quick step through on how I did it below, I hope it helps if you are thinking of creating one of your own.

What do you think? My boys loved it so much they instantly requested 3 more, so I think I'll be kept busy with these for a bit, but that's okay, they have amazing teachers who deserve them!

Crazy Crafters Blog hop with Martha Inchley

Hi!
Thank you for having a look at today's creation!  Today’s card is inspired by Martha Inchley!  Martha's work is sensational and it was so hard to choose one to CASE, I finally thought I might have settled on one (out of around a dozen I had tabs open for) and my computer decided to shut down!
After much ado I eventually got it running again and it had mixed up all my tabs! And in the struggle to find what I had set my mind to do this stunning card appeared on my screen!  I was hooked, not only is it gorgeous, but I knew I would be able to use a few things in my stash I hadn't had a chance to play with yet!
So I decided to stay fairly true to the design today but since a number of the products Martha used for this one are now retired I decided to give it an updated spin.

starting from the back, I switched the embossing folder to the new dynamic textured embossing folder "Pinewood Planks"  (I am in LOVE with this folder after my first use, expect to see it more!)  the early espresso strip was made with the new decorative ribbon border punch (Love, Love, Love)  the leaves were created with the very new Painted Harvest stamp set and matching leaf punch (keep an eye out for them in the holiday catalogue)  and the heart and butterfly were both cut from the upcoming painted autumn designer series paper (another holiday catalogue fav!)
We are so spoiled for choice on designer papers right now, I could have used my sweet and sassy heart framelit on any of those painted autumn sheets or even any of the daisy delight designer papers, but I'm glad I choose those sunflowers, I even considered leaving the butterfly off!

Which one is your favourite?   Well time for me to run, make sure you keep on hopping right around to see how all the Crazy Crafters were inspired today!

July International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop

Hi!
Thank you for having a look at today's creation!  Today’s theme: Gratitude inspired by Thailand.
Last month Stampin' Up! took it's incentive trip earners to Thailand, and it look like they had a blast!  I very much hope to earn a trip myself soon, I'm certainly trying!
All the blog hop participants today took part in Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights last month of the same theme and these are the persons who were voted as the top ten.
My project today is an extension of that last card (CLICK HERE to see it) but I also took inspiration from the beautiful hand carved flower soaps that Thailand is well known for.

I thought the window box framelits made the perfect little box for this project and the coordinating Window Shopping stamp set had the perfect thank you for the inside, to add the little bit of colour to the top I used my blender pens.

How stunning are those berry burst Orchids against that Basic Black box?  Of course the Climbing Orchid Stamp set has the matching Orchid builder framelits available but I decided to fussy cut these ones so I could get in nice and close to that line, I then used my marker to run around the side and remove that white outline.
