Helping Me Grow - Sarah Berry blog Hop

Hi Everyone! Thank you for coming by and having a look at today’s creations! The crazy crafters were so very lucky to be able to do a blog hop with Sarah Berry today!  I’m sure you are going to find some AMAZING projects on this hop so make sure you scroll down and keep hopping onto the next person in line.  To go check out Sarah's blog for yourself click here.
As always with these hops it was so hard to pick one card to case, the project I ended up choosing was this lovely card featuring the Help me Grow stamp set. I just love this set, the flowers are beautiful and it has its own tag for the greetings (co-ordinates with the Rose Garden Thinlits)

Here are my creations, I love using the Stampin’ Up® inks for water colouring since the pigments are so strong it is easy to build up the colour quickly.

The background was embossed with the brick wall embossing folder and then lightly inked in versamark, lightly sprinkled with the copper embossing powder and then heat set, don’t go too heavy with this step to increase the brick look, I then used a light ink wash to deepen the areas that had missed getting the embossing powder on them to give it a more brick look.
When water colouring on regular paper like this I really recommend doing small areas at a time and drying in between (sneaky trick: I often use my heat tool to speed the drying, just take it slow though so you don’t warp the paper)

  7. Sandra, congratulations on all of your Fussy Cutting. The Brick wall is fabulous for any background and when using the copper embossing powder for the Brick make the colours of the flowers look amazing. I love using the Copper Heat Embossing Powder with the Brick Wall Folder and have used a few other folders too doing the same but with the Silver and the Gold Powder as well.
